What is the standard warranty for Launch tools?

All Launch-branded tools come with a 12-month limited warranty

  • If your tool requires registration, the warranty starts from the registration date.
  • If not, it begins on the purchase invoice date.
  • Be sure to keep your invoice—you’ll need it for service.

How does the extended warranty work?

Launch PRO Line diagnostic tools are eligible for extended warranty coverage based on an active software subscription.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You get 1 year of warranty from the registration date
  2. On each anniversary, you have 30 days to renew your software subscription
  3. Renewing on time will extend your warranty by another year
  4. You can continue this annually as long as the subscription is not inactive for more than 30 days.

If your subscription lapses over 30 days, your extended warranty will be permanently void and cannot be reactivated.

What does the extended warranty cover?

It covers:

  • The tablet (main device)
  • The VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface)

It does not cover:

  • Cables, adapters, chargers, or other accessories
  • Demo units, DIY tools, clearance tools, or discontinued models
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, or unauthorized repairs

What’s not covered by any warranty?

  • Damage caused by:
    o Accidents or drops
    o Water, heat, fire, or other disasters
    o Unauthorized modifications or third-party repairs
  • Use of non-Launch accessories
  • Tools outside of the warranty period (unless covered by an active subscription)
  • Data loss during repair (please back up your data!)

Can I get a replacement if my tool is defective out of the box?

Yes. If your diagnostic tool has a manufacturer defect within 14 days of purchase or registration, you may qualify for a brand-new replacement.

Note: Reset or resold tools are not considered “New Defective.”

What if my tool needs repair?

Launch offers:

  • Free repairs for qualifying issues during the warranty period.
  • If the issue can’t be fixed, we’ll provide a replacement of the same or similar model.
  • All replaced or repaired parts come with a 90-day warranty from the date of return shipment.

How do I request service or warranty support?

Contact our support team:

If a return is approved:

  • You’ll send us the defective product.
  • We’ll ship the replacement within 2 business days after receiving it.

What happens to my data during repair?

Please back up your data before sending your product in for repair.

Launch is not responsible for data loss during service.

Does Launch Tech USA reserve any rights?

Yes. Launch Tech USA reserves the right to:

  • Interpret or revise this warranty policy at any time.
  • Announce changes through our official website or authorized channels.

Other Important Notes

  • Demo tools, DIY tools, and reset tools are excluded from extended warranty eligibility
  • Clearance or discontinued tools may not be supported if parts are no longer available.
  • If a tool is reset, the new user inherits only the remaining time from the original warranty unless approved otherwise.
